WAKO Panamerican Champion

Carlos Augusto Inocente Filho - better known as 'Guto' Inocente - is a Brazilian professional mixed martial artist, boxer and kickboxer. In MMA he has fought for the UFC and for STRIKEFORCE.

He is from the Brazilian capital city of Brasilia and first began training in striking at the age of four, coached by his father, and then began training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu at the age of seven. He is a five-time Brazilian Kickboxing Champion, a three-time Pan-American Champion, and a three-time South American Champion, among other titles.

He credits his training with keeping him on a right path growing up in a place where he could have easily gone in a different direction.

“My father is a my hero. He’s a hard-working man and a warrior. I’m here thanks to him,” he says. “I was a gang member in Brazil in my youth. I got shot in the chest when I was 17. After I survived it, that’s why I got into martial arts, for direction away from that life”

Stylistically he is very unusual, especially for a heavyweight, as he employs a mobile style which centers around kicking. He has a wide range of dynamic and unorthodox kicks but they are not just pretty tricks – he throws heavy and he does damage.
